about

Digger and The Pussycats 2nd LP and considered by some to be their best moment! Classic vinyl LP sold out in days on release in 2005. Contains live favourites Coming To Get You (Drive Like A Cunt), Sergi and Thanks A Lot.

This is what Jasper thought:

Digger And The Pussycats could have been sooo hip. They are a couple, they make garagerock like The White Stripes, and they sound more retro than your granny. But even so, this band will never really break through...and that is what makes them so good!

Because Digger And The Pussycats are way too rude and rebellious to be hip. They already let you know in 'Fashion Victim': 'Hey baby did you hear the news? I don't wanna be cool!'. And above that they are insulting women in 'Coming To Get You' ('You drive like a cunt!'). You know these kitties from Melbourne do not give a flying fart about trends. Punk before it even became punk, Iggy Pop and his Stooges as a blueprint. Plug in and destroy! Oh, there had to be some lyrics too? 'Thanks a lot for not helping out' they cynically answer. This is only rock'n roll but I like it. Did you hear some blues influences? Do you still take them seriously after they spat you in the face? These kitties are street trash and you better watch yr back but hey, you would have an attitude too if this was your record!
